As its title would suggest, Grischa Lichtenberger created re: phgrp (reworking »Consequences« by Philipp Gropper's PHILM) by using PHILM’s 2019 LP Consequences as a source of inspiration. However, while the PHILM LP was a set of fluttering and rhythmic free jazz, re: phgrp is made altogether stranger by Lichtenberger’s electronic manipulations. Scuttling around the edges of free composition, avant-garde electronics and rhythmic noise, re: phgrp variously recalls Nicolas Jaar, Eli Keszler and Jan Jelinek.
