Recept’s 1998 tune ‘Quisite’ is paired with Tom Churchill’s 2008 cut ‘Loss Leader’ on this new drop from A Colourful Storm. The former gave the likes of Convextion and Silverlining a home on his Tektite Recordings imprint, and the quick-rolling ‘Quisite’ has plenty of crossover with those artists. ‘Loss Leader’ is slower and more considered - the track offers up a brand of off-kilter Balearia that is now being heard in the work of contemporary practitioners like Roza Terenzi and Axel Boman.
