Dutch outfit Platform’s 1997 self-titled LP is a curious object of techno heraldry, simultaneously recalling vintage house tones straight from Detroit and Chicago, whilst keeping its head steadfastly pointed toward the future, unlocking great vistas of dancefloor bliss that’s only aged like fine wine. From the opening bars of ‘Silent Drum’ to the closing sprinkler hi hat splurge of ‘Walker’, there’s nothing here except for pure, unadulterated techno goodness.
