Rising Montreal star softcoresoft debuts on Lobster Theremin with the Otherworlds EP. The Humidex Records boss and Discwoman affiliate serves up a quintet of wiggling, slightly acidic techno tools here. With their nervy basslines and dystopian flavour, tracks like ‘Meteor Shower’ and ‘Social Conscience’ steer close to the new-new beat sound of acts like Minimal Violence and Schwefelgelb. Elsewhere on Otherworlds ‘Sentiment Analysis’ is a seasick big-room minimal groove that nods to Steve Bicknell.
