Nostalgic for the heyday of QR codes? Then look no further than the COD3 QR label. Since 2018 this imprint has specialised in techno and electro compilations in which the artist names are anonymised, with true identities only being hinted at a couple of months down the line. The intention of all this is to focus your attention on the music, and on COD3 QR 005 the label have served up another fine set of DJ tools. There’s real variety on display here - Moodymann-esque velvet-house jams (‘NILACHALE’) jostle for attention with dramatic tech-house (‘LISTEN CAREFULLY TO THE HEART BEAT’) and Rephlex indebted IDM-techno (‘THE MAN WITH A FM MILK’). Whoever the artists are behind COD3 QR 005 they’ve certainly done a fine job.
