There’s an eminently vintage feel to Sorcery’s pitch-black futuristic 12" Manufactured Conflicts, out on Singaporean label Midnight Shift. As much as its steely clangour alludes to early industrial techno and scatty drum and bass, its uncanny sense for compelling drama and filmic approach brings to mind gritty thrillers set in faraway dystopias. He may only be known personally to his local techno scene and the organisers of Atonal festival — where his unique live drumming performance inspired many speculations — but Manufactured Conflicts is proof positive of his greatness.
