Even out of its context as part of Dextro’s 2006 debut LP Consequence Music, ‘Hearts And Minds’ remains a gloriously cerebral blend of downtempo beats, post-rock atmospherics and the organic electronic sounds of Rounds-era Four Tet. For this Hearts And Minds EP, Alias maintains the vibe of the original on his remix while Arkham spins it out into a kosmische tech-house delight. Unsurprisingly it is (Chris) Clark who goes hardest of all for his Hearts And Minds flip, mutating the original into a lurching glitch-techno monster.
