The tireless trawlers at Trunk Records have resurfaced from the archives with yet another work of strange majesty. This time, it comes courtesy of Buddy Collette and his septet, who offer up a beautifully hallucinogenic tone poem jazz trip. Polynesia floats across the air like a fever dream, daubed with colourful splatters of Badalamenti-like melodies and a hauntingly disconnected narrative read by Robert Sorrels (then a fledgling actor; now a convicted murderer).
