Returning to Frustrated Funk for the first time since 2016’s North Cascades EP, 214 mastermind Chris Roman serves up tense, knotted electro on Everything Changed. ‘Growing Old Together’ and ‘Voice Check’ are the most versatile cuts here, their pensive chords and driving electro grooves reminiscent of B12. Elsewhere on the EP ‘Dislocated’ is a driving bit of Drexciyan cyberpunk while ‘Last Dance’ is Everything Changed’s most abstract entry - the bleep-bloop lead-lines and skittering percussion nod to rRoxymore.
