Dino, it’s hard to believe we’re in Heaven - although actually listening to a record like this one makes it slightly easier. Heaven is a set of beatific contemporary church compositions by the Australian artist. Spillutini cites Arvo Pärt as a principal influence on this album, and listening to the cerebral beauty of these tracks makes us inclined to believe him. Heaven’s organs, choral vocals and other instrumentation move over one another with serene beauty. The manner in which half-melodies and little interjections occasionally rise up out of the fog on tracks such as ‘Touch Isolation’ is reminiscent of Abul Mogard.
