After helping Holly Herndon realise her superb Proto LP, Jenna Sutela now steps out on Pan with a debut full-length of her own. Nimiia Vibie is a set of computer-age experimentations that see Sutela manipulating her own voice into uncanny soundscapes. Sometimes her vocals come to you harmonised in a sort of robo-chipmunk style; at others, they’re flattened into drones and grunts. Nimiia Vibie is challenging electro-acoustic fare that will appeal to those who dig the catalogues of Slip Records and Sacred Tapes.
