Naive Records founder Violet (Inês Borges Coutinho) steps up to bat for Dark Entries with ten-track LP Bed Of Roses. As with Violet’s previous releases, Bed Of Roses is another varied collection that oscillates between more club-oriented flexes and hypnagogic synth cuts with a strong vaporwave influence. In the latter camp we have cuts like opener ‘Tears In 1993’, a buzzing swell of VHS keyboards that wouldn’t sound out of place on a Macintosh Plus record. The dancier tunes on Bed Of Roses tend towards the same slightly new age-inspired aesthetic of labels like Planet Euphorique and Mood Hut. The clanging rhythmic noise of ‘Spectral’ is an outlier which refreshes Bed Of Roses’ final stages.
