In the years since its 1987 release, the sorrowful drones of Pauline Oliveros’ Tara’s Room has never seen a vinyl release — until now. Curious, seeing as anyone might believe it a definitive statement of her lifelong expeditions in sound. Consisting of two elaborate compositions, clocking in at over 25 minutes each, Oliveros’ uncanny ability to bend time with the aid of an accordion and early computer technology is astoundingly modern, and just as essential for today’s age of too-much.
