The long-running project of Aidan Baker and Leah Buckareff makes light work of heavy music, ensnaring shoegaze, ambient and doom metal into soaring drone meditations. While on the surface it might appear like business as usual, 2008’s Desire In Uneasiness is the black sheep of Nadja’s discography, containing measured percussion from a live drum, courtesy of Jakob Thiesen’s steady hand. Make no mistake though, these epics might seem grounded, but they’re as ascendent as anything Nadja have ever done.
