Clovis Lemée dons his Horla guise once more for new LP Fantômes. Recorded over two years Lemée spent in Madagascar, this record combines rhythmic noise, found sounds, organic drum tracks and programmed electronics for a set of unusual and impressive beat works. Imagine the drive of Dolo Percussion combined with the supple playing of Eli Keszler and you’re not far off the sound of Fantômes. Occasional moments of harmony - the beginning of ‘Veillée pour les morts’, for instance - recall the tension of 90’s IDM.
