Coming out of Los Angeles geographically, and neon-signed Miami-by-beatdown 80s Bristol spiritually, Private Lesson is a musical project by Damon Eliza Palermo and Nick Malkin. Their self-titled LP is a mixed media landscape of city pop lights and Neo-chill out vibes, among many other glorious sights. ‘Highland’ floats a pensive piano phrase atop an updated trip-hop beat and overall mood, granted angelic heights by a beautifully searching vocal line by Takako Minekawa.2
