Already done and dusted with releases on labels 3024, and an explosive debut EP on R&S Records, John Randall’s Yak lands on Berlin’s Version with two tracks in a more experimental vein. Following the esoteric instrumentation of previous release Termina EP, ‘Umbra’ and ‘Kaepora’ dial down on the house thrills in favour of impressionistic polyrhythmic hits — yes, quieter than its predecessor, but as sprightly and bloody-minded as anything Jlin ever put to record.
