Coming hot off the back of their collab track ‘Putrification’ on Birmingham-based label Circular Jaw, Manchester’s Avernian and Ottowa’s Strick set Berlin/Leipzig label Row Records ablaze with another quick hit of left field house abstraction. Hairline Fracture EP sees the duo building over their driving beat with a layer of eerie drones — later studiously reduced with no remainder by Ghost Notes Worldwide co-founder Impey’s skeletal remix — while sketching out a sub-juke figure on ‘Smoking Gun’.
