My World My Way exhibits the uncompromising talents of Toronto’s E-Saggila in ways totally befitting of its title. Her Northern Electronics debut casts a gaze back to 2018’s Tools of My Purpose with sharpened fangs — all the better to maul dancefloor revelry with. That’s ‘Aziza’, an industrial beast thrown to the thresher; that’s ‘Pattern Obligation’, a machine-gun beat beaten into submission. But then again, there’s a dark sensuousness to ‘Stars Dying in Succession’ that betrays E-Saggila’s soft, beating heart.
