Most of the EPs dropped as part of the De:tuned Records tenth birthday series have tended to focus on a different style, and as we reach number 8 we find them getting all acidic. The four tunes here are the sort of prime-time acid jams that have been spun time and again at the De:tuned parties over the past decade. Air Liquide and The Kosmik Kommando/Mike Dred both play it straight by serving up no-nonsense acid house joints. Luke Vibert gets a little mischievous on ‘The Banter Notes’, a skipping triple-time tune full of drunken synths and seasick bass. Humanoid’s ‘sT8818r’ is an abstract 303-led broken-beat number.
