Back in 1979, Mute records were established — if you ask some people — it was for the express purpose to support their first artist patron, Fad Gadget. Coming up alongside Human League and Cabaret Voltaire, Fad Gadget — real name Francis John Tovey — became one of the very first starts of industrial music (measuredly darker than his peers). The Best of Fad Gadget takes a look back at his industrious career as an innovator, well into his new wave and synth pop years.
