Back in 2006 Justin Barton and the late, great Mark Fisher walked a stretch of the Suffolk coastline. Fans of the weird and the eerie will know that this part of the world holds great fascination for those interested in hauntology, the uncanny and such related things. As such there was no finer pair to chronicle the landscape in sound than Fisher and Barton, and after their 2005 piece londonunderlondoner On Vanishing Land represents their second collaborative audio work. This is the perfect piece to launch Hyperdub’s new sub-label Flatlines. Split over two sides, the physical edition comes replete with photos from Fisher and a short essay by Barton.
