Axel Boman commemorates Mule Musiq’s 15th anniversary with another instalment of the label’s limited run series of 12” releases, and it’s almost as if Le New Life takes a loving stroll down memory lane (despite its title of rebirth). Then again, sometimes the future sounds like remnants of the past; ‘Chestnut Hearts’ invites the euphoria of early rave, while ‘Paid by the Rhythm’ makes good on Boman’s trademark sound. There’s enough buoyant minimal techno across this release to sustain 15 more years.
