If underground Florida rap marks a criminally underrated corner of the US’ greatest art form, Denzel Curry is its proudest heir, and if this release is anything to go by, his claim to the throne is more than justified. Following in the lineage of fellow statesman SpaceGhostPurrp, Curry’s fourth full-length Zuu elevates the classic hip hop fare of 2018’s Ta13oo with a straight shot of socially-conscious lyrical acrobatics on the likes of ‘WISH’ and ‘BLACKLAND 66.6’.
