Here we have a reissue of Neil Young’s classic soundtrack for Jim Jarmusch’s 1995 movie Dead Man. Young created this music by noodling away on his guitar while he watched the movie, and as such it’s no surprise that these cuts both feature some classic Young guitar stylings as well as some of the more idiosyncratic pieces in his catalogue. Young’s folksy playing is blended with some of the heavier influences that had started to show in his 90’s output - particularly grunge and hard rock. Johnny Depp, the lead from the Jarmusch’s flick, occasionally crops up with readings of William Blake’s poetry.
