The latest Cong Burn lucky-dip is a fine array of cutting-edge club tools. Both Chekov and Doppelate run with the four-on-the-floors for their A-sides - the way that Chekov’s ‘Math (Squared Mix)’ plays a jacking house groove off against a needling bassline is particularly delightful. Russian producer Camin breaks the beats up on ‘Duct’, a cracking moody electro trip. The Cong Burn 05 EP rounds out with ‘b.e.d.’, a sort-of-downtempo entry from label boss Howes that has shades of upsammy about it.
