Exiled from Brazil and relocated to France in 1984, but precious little is known of Paraíba-born composer, percussionist and poet Fernando Falcão, other than a smattering of excellent records. Positively bursting with a full spectrum of colour, the luscious strings, warm brass and unparalleled production of Barracas Barrocas proudly sits in in many circles. It’s sound design, lounge music, fictional film score — and yet none of the above.
