Ellen Allien wastes no time in setting free the first remix EP to spawn from her recent Alientronic LP. Album centrepiece ‘Love Distortion’ is the main focus here, with three of the four entries on Alientronic Remixes 1 being based around that track. Terence Fixmer’s reworking is a typically forthright bit of cyberpunk while Introversion’s take goes full EBM. Allien even offers a re-tooled version of ‘Love Distortion’ herself - her new edit dubs the track out while still maintaining the drive of the original. In the midst of all this Alientronic Remixes 1 is completed by Regal XTC’s trance-techno reimagining of ‘Electronic Joy’.
