Everyone knows that the finest synth-funk comes from Texas. Dallas native Gerard Hanson - a producer known variously as Convextion, Sine Language and E.R.P. - is one of the finest exponents of the style. He proves this again with E.R.P.’s ‘ZRX’, the A-side of this Frustrated Funk split. On the flip the Rotterdam duo Duplex wash out the Texan sound with dub techno synths and ambient tones on ‘Molecular (Ovatow Reclock)’.
