After almost 30 years in arena-filling, mind melting psychedelic rock, Oklahoma City’s strangest sons The Flaming Lips’ fifteenth studio album King’s Mouth finds them on larger-than-life, head-trippin’ form. Conceived to coincide with frontman Wayne Coyne’s immersive art installation of the same name, King’s Mouth features a freaky conceptual narrative — voiced by The Clash’s Mick Jones — sending the listener across an acid-soaked mindscape of giant beings and even bigger cosmic questions.
