After releasing the excellent Seven Horses For Seven Kings back in January, Marc Richter now graces us with the second Black To Comm LP of 2019. Like its predecessor, Before After is another set of visceral compositions that exist in the space where musique concrete, dark ambient and drone meet. There is still plenty for fans of the harsh and heavy to enjoy about Before After - those who enjoy the music of The Body and Katsunori Sawa should be sated - but Before After also breaks the tension with pretty piano pieces like ‘Oceans’.
