1969 7” ‘Vasy Y Voir’/‘Four Paul S.’, the sole release from the Brussels Art Quintet, is one of those records that is fawned over by collectors - prices for original copies often run to several hundred pounds. Now, half a century after its release, Finders Keepers have got together a more affordable edition. One of the pivotal early Belgian jazz releases, the members of this group would go on to become important figures in that particular scene through their involvement with COS/Classroom and the Babs Robert Quartet. The modal explorations of ‘Vasy Y Voir’ and ‘Four Paul S.’ signposted their talent early on.
