Genres

Reissue of an LP from the Australian synthetic underground. On 1980’s Cutheart the bassist/synth player David Tolley joined forces with percussionist Dure Dara to record these strange pieces of fringe electronics. Tolley made his name in jazz-rock, and as such it’s no surprise to find a proggy flavour to his spiralling synth explorations. However, so much more is taken in across Cutheart - musique concrete, noise, free composition and new age all make their presence felt. The resulting record ends up in a space between Tangerine Dream, Eno & Byrne and Peacock & Bley.
