Clay Rendering go heavier than ever before on their latest LP for Hospital Records. California Black Vows finds the duo of Mike Connelly (Wolf Eyes) and his wife Tara introduce two new members into the fold. With the rhythm section given extra muscle by Black Mare’s Sera Timms and Sollilja’s Joe Potts, the band set about making some of the darkest Gothic metal, post-rock and black-hearted shoegaze they’ve provided us to date. Split the difference between Converge, Sunn O))) and Prurient to end up with California Black Vows.
