Dead Man’s Chest returns to Diamond Life with two tracks of gritty jungle. These are the kind of tunes that the one born Alex Eveson has made his calling card when operating as Dead Man’s Chest. Though ‘Drum Shanty’ and ‘Blue Mountain’ are new productions there is a well-worn old-school feel to them. While ‘Drum Shanty’ blends ragga vocals with hardcore rave synths to exhilarating effect, ‘Blue Mountain’ is more dubbed-out - this is sparse, eerie breakbeat that owes plenty to Skanna.
