Chiba, Japan producer/DJ Yuta Yamaoka aka Pigeondust spins his crate digging treasures into a big, beautiful set of instrumental hip hop concoctions. Stylistically falling somewhere further in the past than contemporary producers like Knxwledge and Jansport J, Moon, Wisdom & Slackness revives a vintage hip hop aesthetic — lounge vibraphones, looped soul string — with space age synths and cherubic harps. Above all, Pigeondust follows the tried and true method of any great producer: keep it simple.
