Genres

Sachiko Kanenobu’s Misora was originally released in 1972 - a time when the likes of Joni Mitchell and Neil Young were at the peak of their powers. On the evidence of Misora, Kanenobu deserves to be spoken about in the same breath as these great songwriters. Produced by none other than Haruomi Hosono, this is a gorgeous set of modern ballads that unites the British, Laurel Canyon and Japanese folk scenes. It’s no surprise to find out that the likes of Devendra Banhart and Jim O’Rourke are big fans of this album. Misora is yet another vital reissue of Japanese music from Light In The Attic.
