Reaching heightened levels of success in just a single year, chief among them a reputation-cementing banger in Mutant City Acid and a release on Glasgow label Craigie Knowes, East London cousins Josh Doherty and Rich Bevan aka Posthuman don a masterclass in 303s on Airwave Uranium. The parts of the EP’s self-titled track may appear simple — a morphing bass fluctuating atop a pumped kick-hihat-handclap — but the tension in its eerie undercurrents finalise a creation to be savoured. Ditto ‘King Rat’, a dark-as-a-moonless-night thumper. When the vibes go full frontal on Lou Karsh’s remix, there’s no doubt about the multipurposeness of these shapes.
