Typical 81 weight from Hypho on Round Ere. These tracks carry the soundsystem techno heft that 81’s parent label Swamp81 pretty much wrote the rulebook for at the start of the 2010’s. Hypho crafts menacing rollers in the vein of Pinch - the dark bounce of cuts like ‘Module’ will bring out many a strict face in the dance. MC Rakay is in tow for ‘Graft’ and Round Ere’s title track, and his impassive vocals lend the tracks a vibe similar to Lamont and Slowie’s ‘Ar Kid’ - itself a previous 81 success.
