Etienne Jaumet’s 2018 LP 8 regards obliques found the Zombie Zombie member reinterpreting classic jazz pieces in his own inimitable style. On this new Versatile Records 7” - the first of a two-part series - we see a pair of cuts from 8 regards obliques switched up in dub styles. DJ Sotofett’s take on ‘Unity’ is a brass-led delight, the track’s quick hi-hats adding a little juke flavour to this soundsystem killer. On the B-Side, I:Cube does some terrific stuff with ‘In A Silent Way’ - is this house, dub techno, Balearic beat or something else entirely?
