The first album to be released on Toy Tonics is also the first LP to have been made by label boss Kapote. What It Is demonstrates that Kapote’s sample-heavy brand of disco-house works just as well in a full-length format as it does on an EP. This a record filled with chirpy and funky dancefloor jams of the sort that will perk up any mix. Reminiscent of Soundstream and Chaos In The CBD, we expect to hear What It Is spun at parties from Peckham to Berlin all summer long.
