The artist best known as Jeremiah R. comes through with a new LP under the moniker of Black Sky Soul. That said, Messages From The Other Side doesn’t veer too far away from the melody-rich Detroitism that we’ve heard from Jeremiah in the past. Classic Midwestern electro and techno rhythms ground Messages From The Other Side - big bass and chatty hi-hats are the order of the day. The melodies and pads are where things get interesting, with Black Sky Soul favouring the sort of curious tones and ambling lead lines we’ve heard in the work of Inga Copeland.
