The meaning of the name The Harmonic Canon is twofold - not only is it the title of a piece by Dominic Murcott, but The Harmonic Canon also refers to a double-bell that was custom-made for the performance of Murcott’s composition. In addition to the double-bell - crafted by the sculptor Marcus Vergette - we find the arx duo taking to Murcott’s material with all manner of percussive instruments as back-up. The result is a varied and virtuosic contemporary classical drone.
