The dust has barely settled on Lukid’s recent Drip EP and Luke Blair is already on to the next one. Pork Pie, his second release as Refreshers, takes the head-spun electronic sound of Lukid and applies it to old rave styles. The result is a set of hyper-real junglist tunes that occupy a similar space to artists like Dead Man’s Chest, The Brothers Grimm and Jumping Jack Frost. Pork Pie’s title-track also has a donk influence lurking in there somewhere, something we’re always pleased to see.
