After a couple of head-turning EPs Nic Mauskovic’s Mauskovic Dance Band come through with their debut LP. The Mauskovic Dance Band is a perfect fit for Soundway Records - after all, it sounds like the group have been listening to plenty of the label’s compilations of Latin American music, and even the production here has a saturated warmth that seems designed to emulate the feel of those Soundway reissues. When combined with the Mauskovic Dance Band’s bass-driven no-wave grooves (think Liquid Liquid and ESG) the result is an ebullient party record.
