Al Wootton has shelved the Deadboy alias of late and instead focussed on dropping records under his own name. Natural Forward follows up the Selah EP, and as it was with that release this is another prime set of hybrid club takes. Techno, garage, deep house and UK bass are all mashed up in Wootton’s sound. On cuts like ‘Power Must Change Hands’ and Natural Forward’s title-track there is also a more pronounced breakbeat/dubwise influence than we’ve previously heard from any of Wootton’s projects.
