Another week, another excellent reissue from Stroom. The label’s latest find is a compilation of work by Benjamin Lew, a multi-disciplinary artist who formed part of the same 80’s Belgian scene as Tuxedomoon. Le Personnage Principal Est Un Peuple Isole includes both previously-unreleased material and tracks that appeared on Lew’s album for Crammed Records. These are quirky and curious excursions, equal-parts new age synth composition, North African traditional styles, Krzysztof Komeda soundtracks and spiritual jazz.
