Six years on from the Speckbass EP - a leftfield club set that, in their words, was fatter than a ‘Deepfried stick of butter wrapped in bacon’ - and we see DJs Fett Burger and Speckgürtel unite on a full-length album. Red Scorpions works with the same tropes that made Speckbass such good fun. Various classic house strains - deep, acid, Balearic, Chicago - are all swirled together with the cheeky flair that we now come to expect from a Fett Burger drop. Italo and ambient house make their presence felt towards the back of Red Scorpions to end the record on a nice dreamy note.
