After turning some heads with a debut drop from Ghostride The Drift, D. Tiffany and Special Guest DJ’s xpq? imprint invite GTD member Exael back for a second bite of the cherry. On Dioxippe the Berlin-based producer comes through with a set of MIDI malfunctions that flit between beat-driven techno, experimental electronics and acidic deconstructions. Cuts like the title track and ‘cyl reedit’ have a warped and scuzzy feel to them that one also finds in the output of artists like Bergsonist and Metrist. The machines make their presence felt throughout Dioxippe, be they chattering maniacally (‘untitled’) or hissing malevolently (‘rond’).
