Two pieces of driving techno from Matthew Hodson’s new MATTHS project here. ‘Velocet’ and ‘Loop’ are both constructed from the same core materials. Over unresting kick drums Hodson manages to ring bright and brittle arpeggios from his synths. These coalesce into unsettling clouds of sound, giving both tracks here a feeling not dissimilar to CUTS, Rival Consoles (an act for whom MATTHS have previously opened in concert) or Factory Floor.
